Check out the new TV shows and movies you can watch this week on Australian streaming services.

With the summer sun beating down across Australia, it's a good time to shutter the house, crank up the air-con and collapse onto the couch for a good ol' fashioned TV marathon. And thanks to the advent of on-demand streaming services, you don't have to settle for slogging through the endless parade of kids movies that dominates free-to-air TV during these school holidays.

Over on Netflix, for instance, this week marks the arrival of the second part of the comedy series Disjointed, with star Kathy Bates due for more misadventures as she manages the day-to-day tribulations of running a medical marijuana dispensary. If that sounds a little too wacky for you, maybe you'll enjoy Jack Black's take on the real-life Polish-American polka musician Jan Lewan in The Polka King, a semi-biographical look at the Ponzi scheme that inevitably landed Lewan in jail.

Stan's release schedule is a little more serious, with the final four episodes of the Philip K. Dick anthology Electric Dreams making their way to the streaming service. Things are significantly quieter over on Foxtel, where this week's biggest arrival is the return of Grand Designs Australia.

Finally, reality TV fans have plenty of tasty drama to feast on thanks to hayu, with the second season of Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian and the premiere of To Rome For Love headlining the week's viewing.

Take a look at the highlights of this week's new streaming releases below. For a complete schedule of upcoming programming, check out our list of everything coming to Aussie streaming services in January.
