Stan's commissioning of local content for 2017 will include comedy sets from Australian comedy legends.

Streaming media has taken Australia by storm in terms of viewing figures, but what we’ve not see a lot of is streaming content specifically created within Australia for broadcast. Stan has long led the way in this regard with series such as Wolf Creek and the excellent No Activity.

It has announced that for 2017 one of its new series will be "One Night Stan", a comedy special series featuring sets from some of Australia’s top stand up talent. Specifically, Stan will record performances of the following hit shows for streaming in 2017:

  • Celia Pacquola – The Looking Glass (2/12/2016)
  • Tom Ballard – The World Keeps Happening (3/12/2016)
  • Tom Gleeson – Great (4/12/2016)
  • Sam Simmons – Stop Being Silly (20/1/2017)
  • Judith Lucy - Ask No Questions of the Moth (22/1/2017)
  • Wil Anderson – Fire at Wil (22/1/2017)

The dates above are when each show will be recorded, so if you’re more of a fan of actual live comedy, tickets for the shows, which will all be recorded at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre, are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
