Hi Matt,
You’d be able to get the card but you would not qualify for the bonus points if you’re already banking with Bank of Melbourne. According to St.George’s website: “Offer not available if you’ve held a St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA rewards card in the last 24 months.”

Just in response to Richards comment to Linda, I found when reading the fine print that 12k spending time frame is within 12 months of being approved, not in the first 120 days. Is that correct?

Hi Tom, apologies for the error. You are correct. It is 12 months not 120 days. Thanks for the correction.

When are the bonus points attributed? Eg, if you spend the qualifying amount within 6 months, will they be attributed then? Or do you have to wait until 12 months?

We have a standard st George credit card can we change to st George Amplify card?

Sarah Megginson Finder
May 05, 2025
Hi Julie,
Unfortunately the only way to change cards is to apply for the new one. Even though you are an existing customer, you have to apply for the card again as it’s a new application for credit, so applying (and allowing the bank to review your capacity to repay) is a legal requirement. Because you’re an existing customer, you might not be eligible for bonus points offers too (currently this card offers up to 180,000 bonus Amplify Points for new customers). It may be worth calling St George to discuss your situation and see what your options are. Hope this helps!

Hi Jason,
St. George Amplify Rewards program offers flexibility as the points you earn never expire, giving you as much time as needed to build your balance. Hope this helps!

So I have bank of Melb package with 3 x home loans. Package has amplify signature card. Am I ineligible to apply for this card? I am considering re-financing anyway.
