If you have credit on the card and not a debit amount, do you still earn the reward points?

      JoelJanuary 24, 2018Staff

      Hi Craig,
Thanks for leaving a comment at finder. Yes you will earn points as long as it is an eligible purchase. Eligible purchases are generally defined as everyday purchases which involve the exchange of a good or service for a payment. Transactions that do not qualify as eligible purchases generally include business expenses, gambling transactions, balance transfers, BPAY payments and cash advances.

      Cheers,
      Joel

I have an Advantage Package on my home loan with St George – can I apply for this credit card, have the annual fee waived and still receive the 90,000 bonus points?

    • Staff
      JhezelynJanuary 4, 2018Staff

      Hi Dion,

      Thank you for your comment.

As per St.George’s Advantage Package Terms, you are allowed to have one credit card included in a package and annual card fee will not be charged. Amplify Signature is one of the eligible credit cards that may be included in the package.

You are still entitled to receive the 90,000 bonus points when you apply for a new Amplify Signature card between 23rd November 2017 and 18th April 2018, spend at least $5,000 on eligible purchases made with the card within 90 days of card approval.

      I hope this helps.

      Regards,
      Jhezelyn

If I have one of these credit cards can I pay wages to my employees each week directly into their bank account and accrue points this way? or is this ‘pay anyone’ function not applicable for this card or to gain FF points?

    • Staff
      HaroldOctober 31, 2017Staff

      Hi Francesca,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

You can only earn points through eligible purchases do not include BPAY, fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account. Existing St. George/BankSA/Bank of Melbourne customers who currently hold an Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold

      Hello Tom,

Thank you for sending your inquiry over. :)

Government charges are not eligible for Amplify Points and Qantas Points. Please refer to the bank’s Product Disclosure Statement about rewards for further information.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Jonathan

I am trying to do online application. What is the difference between Ampify Rewards and Amplify Qantas?

    • Default Gravatar
      JonathanJune 16, 2017

      Hi Piet!

      Thanks for the comment.

The major difference between Amplify Rewards and Amplify Qantas is their pointing system. For points you can earn per $1 spent on eligible purchases,
Amplify Points has 1.5 for domestic purchases and 3 (until 30 June 2017) or 1.5 (from 1 July 2017) for overseas, while Amplify Qantas has 0.75 and 1.5 (until 30 June 2017) or 0.75 (from 1 July 2017) respectively.

You can click “Go to Site” to see their Product Disclosure Statement and understand how the points work.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Jonathan

There is no indication of what annual salary is required to be eligible for this card. Can you advise whether there is a specific threshold. Thank you

    • Staff
      LiezlJune 8, 2017Staff

      Hi Charlie,

      Thanks for your question.

Although the income requirement is not indicated for this card, the minimum credit limit can be used as a benchmark. Hence, required annual income will be higher than $15,000. You can refer on our guide on this page on how your earnings determine the type of credit card you can apply for. Better still you try calling the issuer to ask about your eligibility.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,
      Liezl

    Dear staff,
I signed up for a St George Amplify Signature card in September 2016 because I saw the 30,000 bonus Qantas points advertised on here. Can you please confirm that this was advertised? St George is now refusing to give me the points because they claim the offer didn’t start until September 30 which makes no sense, because I only signed up because of the points. Please confirm thanks.

      Hi Emily,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, there was an offer of 30,000 bonus points for the St.George Amplify Signature back in September 2016, however, this offer only took effect on the 30th of September as per confirmation from St. George. If you applied for the card before the 30th, I’m afraid you may not be able to receive the bonus points.

      Cheers,
      May

    Hello,

I have signed up to this card and spent the required $2500 within a few weeks, it says that the 30,000 bonus points will appear in my Qantas FF account within 90 days of the qualifying spend.

I am looking at taking out a home loan and in order to so, have to close down my credit card account (it currently has a balance of $0 as it has been paid in full), what I am wanting to know is whether or not I’ll still receive the Qantas points if I now close the account down?

    Thanks in advance

      Hi Stuart,

      Thanks for your question.

The bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the eligible spend criteria being met. Therefore you must wait for the bonus points to be credited first to your Qantas FF account before you close your St. George credit card account, otherwise, you won’t be able to receive them.

      Cheers,
      May
