A good Pokémon trainer needs an epic theme tune.

Since the world-devouring launch that was Pokémon GO, a lot of strange and wonderful things have happened. Now in its second week, we're seeing more and more setting out on their Pokémon adventures and if Spotify's numbers are anything to go by, Pokémon trainers are battling to the beats of the original series.

Spotify streams of the Pokémon anime's theme song, 'Gotta Catch 'Em All', have gone up by 362% worldwide over the past week. In fact, overall Pokémon streams have tripled since Sunday 3 July.

There are now 197 thousand user generated Pokémon playlists and 53 thousand titled 'Pikachu'.

According to Spotify, these are the top 5 streamed Pokémon GO tracks:

  1. Pokemon Theme
  2. Pokerap
  3. Pokemon Johto
  4. Go Pokemon Go
  5. I Want To Be A Hero
