BOO is the native cryptocurrency token of the SpookySwap Finance protocol. Marketed as the fast-growing decentralised exchange (DEX) on the Fantom blockchain, SpookySwap allows users to swap cryptocurrency tokens without the need for an intermediary. This is achieved thanks to a combination of an automated market maker (AMM) and user-provided liquidity pools. The SpookySwap DEX is aiming to become the go-to platform for cheap cryptocurrency exchanges within the Fantom Opera network. It was the first DEX to be launched on the growing layer-1 Fantom blockchain.
According to the project’s website, the platform leverages the speed, scalability, and interoperability of the Fantom Opera network to offer a user-centric set of decentralised services including token swapping, staking, liquidity provision, yield farms, and unique non-fungible tokens (NFTs) called MagiCats. In addition to the impressive list of features, to ensure interoperability, users can take advantage of a built-in bridge that can exchange tokens from the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Arbitrum, Polygon, or Avalanche networks to the Fantom blockchain. The liquidity that provides the backbone to all swaps executed on the platform is provided by users. For depositing liquidity users can earn a share of all transaction fees. In addition to earning transaction fees, liquidity provider tokens can also be staked to earn the native cryptocurrency, BOO. Alongside incentivising liquidity, BOO also acts as the governance token for the protocol, allowing token holders to vote on development proposals. It also provides access to initial DEX offerings (IDOs) on the FTMpad.
