Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Find out when you can shop the highly-anticipated collection.

Do you have vivid memories of rushing home after school to not miss the latest episode of Spongebob Squarepants? If the loveable and adorable yellow sponge – formally known as Spongebob Squarepants – was a part of your childhood, then just wait until you see this. Nike has developed a dedicated sneaker capsule to Mr Squarepants and we are so excited!

The collection is in collaboration with Kyrie Irving, an American professional basketball player. He has co-created six different shoe designs that each pay homage to one of the beloved characters from the show. The Nike Kyrie x Spongebob Squarepants sneaker capsule is dropping on the 10 August. Mark your calendars and set your phone reminders – this is going to be a sell out! The one and only place to shop is from Nike online. Other Nike stockists include THE ICONIC, JD Sports and Platypus Shoes but it's not confirmed if the capsule will be reaching those stores.

The standout show from the collection is of course, the Spongebob. It arrives in the Nike Kyrie 5 style and it's featured in the signature vivid yellow colourway that is bright and fabulous. From what we can see, it features golden yellow dots to represent a porous sponge, a squiggly Nike swoosh, and red and brown accents on the midsole and outsole. Of course, these colour choices are a nod to his famous khaki and tie combo. The laces are overlaid in a Venus flytrap-inspired pattern and you can clearly see the Nickelodeon brand on the tongue. The best part? Spongebob's adorable smiling face on the inside sole. It's as if he is smiling right up at you!

What other characters will get their own shoe? The capsule features four other styles inspired by Patrick Star, the Krusty Krab, Sandy Cheeks and Squidward Tentacles. Similar to Spongebob, Patrick Star and Squidward arrive in the Nike Kyrie 5 style while Mr Krabs and Sandy Cheeks come in the Nike Kyrie Low 2.

Patrick's pink complexion is reflected onto the shoe with a lime green addition on the midsole and outsole to represent his shorts. Squidward's shoe is coloured with seafoam green and light blue to show off his character. Mr Krabs' red shoe features accents of blue and gold, with a striking green money print around the edges. And finally, Sandy Cheeks' shoe is reminiscent of her astronaut suit, arriving in all-white and adorned with a pink flower on the side. Every single sneaker in the Spongebob Squarepants capsule has the character's face on the inside – so you can never forget who inspired the collection.

The collection is expanding with a vibrant colour way called "Pineapple House". Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob of course! This model is dedicated to the character's abode. The uppers feature elements inspired by pineapple, with an array of zig zags and patterns. The colour palette has tones of orange and yellow, as well as a hint of dark blue. One of our favourite elements if the overlaid lace shield depicting a set of leafy greens.
