Money Hack: Get pre-sale tickets to Splendour in the Grass 2018 with Visa
Score your tickets to Splendour before anyone else with Visa Checkout.
Get your wallets ready, music lovers: Splendour in the Grass 2018 is coming! The lineup dropped last week and this year's festival boasts a stellar lineup including hip hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar, New Zealand’s alt-pop princess Lorde, Brit indie rockers The Wombats and homegrown heroes Gang of Youths (just to name a few). It’s easily one of the biggest lineups the festival has ever had, so tickets are a hot commodity.
The three-day musical extravaganza will run from Friday 20 July to Sunday 22 July at North Byron Parklands and general sale tickets are up for grabs from 9am AEST Thursday 19 April 2018. But if you have a Visa credit or debit card, you can score your tickets even earlier.
As the official payment technology partner of SITG 2018, Visa is hosting a Visa Checkout pre-sale for eligible cardholders. If you hold a Visa debit or credit card, you can register for the pre-sale now and grab tickets from 9am AEST Wednesday 18 April. The pre-sale is open until 9pm on Wednesday, but because tickets will likely sell out before then we'd recommend jumping on the pre-sale as early as you can.
You don’t have to use your Visa card to pay for the tickets, but you do need to register for the pre-sale to snag your tickets early. When you register, you’ll receive a ‘special offer code’, which you can use to access the pre-sale on Wednesday morning. You can grab a three-day pass for $399 or single day passes for $179. If you’re planning on camping, you can also pick up a five-night camping ticket for $129 per person.
If you have a frequent flyer credit card, you can reward yourself with more than Splendour tix if you offer to pay for you and your pals' tickets on your card. This is because you’ll earn points for every $1 you spend. Considering tickets are almost $400, you could rack up a nice little bounty of points if you pick up a couple of tickets on your card. Then you’ll enjoy the benefits of securing your Splendour tickets long after your friends pay you back.
Even with festival tickets aside, heading to Splendour is an expensive commitment. In between accommodation or camping passes, travel, camping supplies, food and bevvies plus a couple of new outfits, the costs quickly add up.
