South Australia offers $100 hotel vouchers for locals and visitors
Here's how you can get your mitts on them for a cheap summer vacation.
With borders reopening in South Australia, the state is calling for visitors. And to tempt travellers to spend their summer in the state, it's offering $100 in travel vouchers to all Aussies.
Similar to the initial voucher scheme, which was released in October, the vouchers will consist of $100 worth of accommodation to spend in Adelaide or North Adelaide and $50 in accommodation in regional South Australia.
Unlike the original scheme though, this second round will be available for locals and interstate visitors.
How does the voucher work?
Vouchers become available online here on 5 January 2021 at 11.30am AEDT. There are only a limited number of vouchers available so the earlier you apply for them, the better your chances of nabbing a discount.
You can use your voucher for stays between 7 January and 31 March 2021. But there are two things to be wary of:
- You must make your booking from 7-31 January 2021. In other words, you can't pre-book your accommodation now and have it reimbursed once that voucher is in your hand.
- You can't redeem the voucher for a Saturday night stay. So you may have to sacrifice a workday or part of a workday to take advantage of this deal.
If successful, you will receive a unique voucher code which you can apply when booking your stay to redeem your discount.
Where can it be used?
If successful, you'll have access to a single $100 voucher to use in Adelaide or North Adelaide as well as a $50 voucher to use in suburban and regional South Australia.
Eligible hotels include the Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Hotel Indigo, Bungaree Station and Novotel Barnstaple Valley Resort.
If you're looking to get the most bang for your buck, the Crowne Plaza is the cheapest. It costs $99 per night down from $199 per night using the voucher.
