Sony signs up with Vodafone for Xperia M5
Sony’s latest midrange Android handset is a Vodafone exclusive.
Sony just keeps on pumping out new Android handsets. Having only recently released its flagship range, the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium, as well as the more midrange outright-purchase-only Xperia C5 Ultra which was announced just yesterday, it still isn't quite finished with new releases down under.
Today’s Sony Mobile device to hit Australian shelves is the mid-range Sony Xperia M5. The Android device will be available on a variety of Red plans through Vodafone starting at $45 per month (assuming you don't want to hunt down your own handset online for outright purchase). No word yet on deals with other carriers, so this looks like a Vodafone exclusive.
Here are the basic specifications for the Sony Xperia M5.
Screen size | 5in |
---|---|
Storage | 16GB |
Weight | 142.5g |
Processor | Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 |
Rear camera | 21.5MP |
Front camera | 13MP |
Battery | 2600mAh |
Resolution | 1920 x 1080 |
Display density | 441ppi |
Sony’s pitch for the Xperia M5 rests on the quality of the camera relative to its price point. It offers a 21.5MP rear camera and 13MP front camera, which is a good specification for a mid-range device.
