Formed in 2004, Skyscanner is a veteran of the travel comparison industry. Launched in 2012, Traveloka may be younger but it’s still got credentials – despite being a start up it’s already worth more than a billion dollars.

On a random date, the lowest price for a one way flight from Bangkok to Bali was listed as $173 on Skyscanner.
On the same date, the lowest price for a one way flight from Bangkok to Bali came out at 1,788,700RP ($169.75) on Traveloka.
The verdict:
In a like-for-like comparison, Traveloka listed a price that was just over $3 cheaper than Traveloka. What you need to consider however is that Traveloka doesn’t offer prices in AUD and while it doesn’t charge any transaction fees your bank may for the conversion which could even out the costs or even tip the scale in Skyscanner’s favour.
Skyscanner compares the prices of airlines across the world. Traveloka only offers flights from airlines that service Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, Australia and Cambodia.
The verdict:
Skyscanner offers more airlines worldwide, but Traveloka has great coverage in Asia and the Pacific area.
Traveloka offers a "passenger quick pick" facility to members, which means you don’t have to input your travel document details every time you book a trip.
Skyscanner doesn’t have a deals section on its website, as it pulls prices through from third parties.
Traveloka, meanwhile, runs regular deals on its promos page, like 100K RP off domestic flights, 15K RP train discounts, and 63% off hotel prices.
The verdict:
Traveloka offers more deals however this is also due to the fact that it is more a deals-based site whereas Skyscanner is an aggregator of fares.
