How do Skyscanner's deals compare to other brands?
As Skyscanner is an aggregator and not a travel agent, its deals can come from anywhere.
For example, those mentioned above are from Jetstar.
What's handy is that Skyscanner does the work for you. It trawls through all the sites – even ones you've never heard of – to nab you the best price.
Because of this, the deals available on Skyscanner are only as good as the brands it features.
Where you might find better is with brands Skyscanner doesn't work directly with, like Cebu Pacific.
While Skyscanner's search pulls up Cebu Pacific's flights they always lead to other booking sites such as Trip.com or Kiwi.com. In these instances you may find booking direct gives you a better deal.
Are Black Friday deals really cheaper?
As one of the biggest sales events on the calendar, Black Friday (29 November) and Cyber Monday (2 December) are when many airlines offer big savings.
In 2022 we saw:

$277 return flights to New Zealand

$357 return flights to Thailand
$507 return flights to Hawaii

In 2021 we saw:

International flights from $2,056 return (Brisbane to Johannesburg on Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways)
In 2020 we saw:

International flights from $115 each way on Jetstar
Virgin Australia flights to the USA from $899 return
While Skyscanner's deals are cheap they might not be the cheapest you'll see in the year. Not all airlines participate in Black Friday, either. For example Qatar and Scoot have been known to opt out of offering a specific Black Friday sale and instead run their own sales over Black Friday.
Do flights get cheaper on Cyber Monday?
Unlike online retailers, airlines don't often change their deals daily. They're more prone to offer their sale on Black Friday only or extend it from Friday until Cyber Monday. With this in mind, prices will likely increase by Cyber Monday as the availability of the lowest fares decreases. As a general rule of thumb, if you're after the cheapest price, the earlier you book the better.
