Skyscanner Black Friday deals 2021

Ready to cure your wanderlust? Show me the Skyscanner deals

Skyscanner already has a reputation for steering travellers to the best-value flights around.

However, between Black Friday (27 November 2020) and Cyber Monday (30 November 2020) the flight, hotels and car comparison site showcases even lower flight prices.

On the site are domestic fares at up to 50% less than the average price. These fares change constantly so if you see a cheap deal, snap it up before someone else does.

Frequently asked questions about Skyscanner's Black Friday travel deals

What can we expect from Skyscanner's Black Friday deals?

You stand to save up to 50% off this year with flights well below the average price mark. As Skyscanner is an aggregator, reliant on other site's, prices are changing by the second. When we looked on 27 November, there were flights from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast downt o $177 return (54% less than the average price). That's just a small taste of the bargains in store.

How do Skyscanner's deals compare to other brands?

As Skyscanner is an aggregator and not a travel agent itself, its deals are based on those on other sites. Deals can come from anywhere. For example, those mentioned above are from Jetstar. What's handy about this is that Skyscanner does the work for us, trawling through all the sites - even ones you've never heard of - to nab you the best price.

Because of this the deals available on Skyscanner are only as good as the brands it features.

Where you might find better is with brands Skyscanner doesn't work directly with. Cebu Pacific is one of these brands. While Skyscanner's search pulls up Cebu Pacific's flights they always lead to other booking sites such as or In these instances you may find booking direct gives you a better deal.

Are Black Friday deals really cheaper?

As one of the biggest sales events on the calendar you'll find many airlines opting in to offer big savings over Black Friday (27 November) and Cyber Monday (30 November).

In 2019's Black Fridays deals we saw domestic flights from $39 each way and international flights from $115 each way on budget airlines such as Jetstar. Full-service airlines like Virgin Australia had flights to the USA from $899 return.

In this year's sale we're seeing domestic flights from $120 return (Sydney-Gold Coast on Jetstar) and international flights from $2,056 return (Brisbane to Johannesburg on Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways).

While Skyscanner's deals are cheap they might not be the cheapest you'll see in the year. Not all airlines participate in Black Friday, either. For example Qatar and Scoot have been known to opt out of offering a specific Black Friday sale and run their own sales over the Black Friday period.

Do flights get cheaper on Cyber Monday?

Unlike online retailers, airlines don't often change their deals day-by-day. Instead, they're more prone to either offer their sale on Black Friday only or extend it from Friday until Cyber Monday. With this in mind, prices are more likely to increase by Cyber Monday as the availability of the lowest fares decreases.

As a general rule of thumb, if you're after the cheapest price, the earlier you book the better.
