The Skoda Superb is a near perfect sedan or wagon that is extremely well equipped. In fact, it's so good that the automotive media had to get extraordinarily picky to offer any critique. In summary, it's a class-leading benchmark. For 2019 Superb models, Skoda has dropped the diesel option. That decision leaves buyers with the choice between two turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engines. Both engines share a 2.0-litre capacity and both deliver 350Nm of torque. However, one of the engines produces 162kW, while the other engine generates 206kW. Peak power kicks in at different revs. On the Style 2.0-litre engines, maximum kilowatts are achieved at 6,200rpm. SportLine Superbs rev harder, with maximum power at 6,500rpm. Skoda put the higher output engine in the SportLine 4x4 model. Unanimously, the 162kW engine was said to be solid but reviewers felt it lagged (likely due to the nature of turbocharged engines) when initially setting off. The Superb really does seem to be able to do everything and to do it adeptly.
