Singapore Airlines and SilkAir introduce new fare types
Get more or pay less, as desired.
Singapore Airlines and SilkAir have revealed a new set of prices for economy and business class travellers. You'll be seeing them appearing on flights from 20 January 2018.
In economy class
You'll be able to choose, in ascending order of price, between Lite, Standard and Flexi fares.
Flexi fares bump up your luggage allowance from 30kg to 35kg, while going flying Lite means you no longer get free advance seat selection unless you're travelling with a child age 12 and under.
Higher demand front-of-aircraft seats will attract higher fares, as will the preferred seats with extra legroom.
You'll also see a distinct difference in rewards mileage accrued. Lite fares will only earn 50% mile, while Standard earns 75% and Flexi earns 100%.
In business class
Business class has its own Lite, Standard and Flexi fare options. Across all of them you'll still get the usual 40kg luggage allowance and advance seat selection at no extra cost.
Mileage accrual will increase to 150% with Flexi fares, or 125% for business Standard and Lite.
Frequent flyer perks
KrisFlyer and PPS Club members will get advance seat selection and baggage allowance benefits across all new fare types in both economy and business class.
PPS Club members flying in first class get a generous 50kg additional of checked baggage allowance, while business class travellers get 40kg, Premium Economy travellers get 35kg, and Economy flyers get 30kg.
And KrisFlyer Elite Gold members get an additional 20kg check-in baggage allowance when flying in all classes.
