Beauty geeks get ready for the Shu Uemura x Super Mario collaboration
The holiday collection is perfect for beauty geeks who love a bit of 90s' nostalgia.
This week is full of news around exciting collaborations. The Face Shop is creating an ultra-cool Marvel inspired collection, and designer Danielle Nicole has created a range of Rugrats inspired handbags.
But the latest collab we've heard about this week might be one of the coolest. Beauty brand Shu Uemura is creating a line inspired by Nintendo's Super Mario.
The beauty collection includes a full range of colour cosmetics. Some of the exclusive products are two pink lippies, two cushion blue colours, a glittery brow comb, an eye and cheek palette, and an innovative eyeliner stamp.
The collection also features skincare and hair items including shampoo and conditioner, hairstyling products, cleansing oil, lip balm, eye primers and tools.
International artistic director for Shu Uemura, Kakuyasu Uchiide, said to WWD: “This collection is not so much about creating, but it is about playing. I want people to be able to play with their individual style. During the holidays this simple approach to beauty allows customers to enjoy the season more.”
“I really want to show what is our spirit, our DNA, our creativity. That’s the only way to realize what Mr. Uemura wanted to do, which was to strive to link art with cosmetics, to link art with beauty," he said.
The Super Mario Bros. collection will be available worldwide on 1 November. Watch this space for a list of places where you can buy the collection. Head over to WWD where you can see all the product pictures from the collection.
