Watch out world: Showpo is going global
The online fashion giant has set its sights on the United States in 2018.
Showpo is easily one of Australia's favourite online fashion retailers, so it comes as no surprise that its success in the Australian market has inspired the brand to seek out international opportunities.
With plans to expand over the course of 2018, Showpo's goal is to launch the brand in the US market by introducing three hour delivery capabilities in Los Angeles. Needless to say, LA: Showpo is coming for you.
The brand gained a massive following thanks to its affordable garments and frankly, one of the best Instagram brand pages out there – and we don't say that lightly. The highly curated feed is populated with gorgeous imagery that definitely appeals to our feminine, millennial sides (with the occasional puppy photo thrown in for good measure).
The brand's Instagram page currently has over 1.3 million followers and many of those are already from overseas. The goal is simply to translate that into purchases.
With clothing, accessories, shoes, beauty and homewares, Showpo is definitely a one-stop shop for a lot of Australian shoppers, so we can see it doing well in the US market where speedy delivery and on-trend products are critical.
According to an interview with Inside Retail, CEO and founder Jane Lu believes that it's a solid investment given the extensive testing and strategy planning that has gone into the planning, and that the already $30 million dollar business could be even bigger overseas.
"The market is huge and it's about trying to trace back what we've done well here and do it overseas," said Lu.
But Australian fans of Showpo need not worry that the brand will neglect its customer base here in the move, as Lu also mentioned the introduction of more products and a three-hour delivery premium service in Australia to add extra value for existing customers.
