From design to battery life to price tag, there's plenty we already know about the upcoming Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones.

Sennheiser is well-established as one of the best manufacturers in the audio game. We've given its products many a glowing review in the past. If rumours are to be believed, that trend will continue with the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones.

Here's everything we know about the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones. For more help tracking down the audio equipment of your dreams, check out our guide to the 13 best headphones in Australia.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 release date

Sennheiser revealed back in June that the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones will be available globally from August 2022. A report says that the device will be officially revealed 8 August, but the date remains unconfirmed.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 price

A leak from a Canadian retailer has revealed that the headphones will be selling for CAD$449.95. That translates to approximately AUD$502. For reference, the Momentum 3 headphones launched at CAD$530 and AUD$599.95.

It looks like a serious price cut is headed our way and we can't wait.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 design

That same retail leak also delivered a comprehensive view of the headphones' design. The ultra-foldable retro design of the Momentum 3s appears to be a thing of the past, with Sennheiser going for a more popular design this time around.

A rounded band with fabric padding now features, as do swivelling ear cups. It's certainly a more generic look that some consumers might not be thrilled with.

The leak indicates black and white colour options and purchase inclusions such as a carrying case, USB-C cable and international travel adaptor.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 features

Sennheiser Momentum 4

Sennheiser has boldly claimed that the Momentum 4 headphones will feature an astonishing 60 hours of battery life. For those keeping track at home, that's 3 times that of the Apple AirPods Max. If Sennheiser can fulfil this remarkable claim, tech reviewers will be stumbling over themselves to praise the device.

Sennheiser has also asserted that the Momentum 4s will "raise the bar even higher" on adaptive noise cancellation. Sennheiser is adept with noise cancellation, so we can't wait to see what it has in store this time.

The Momentum 4 headphones will feature 42mm drivers much like the Momentum 3s. This time, the drivers will be placed at a more optimal angle to deliver "a more natural soundstage".

Voice pick-up is set to be improved and Sennheiser has promised a range of sound customisation features. These will likely be linked to the Sennheiser Smart Control app.

Simply put, if Sennheiser can deliver groundbreaking battery life while pulling off major design changes and slashing up to $100 off the price of the Momentum 3s, we'll be looking at a truly impressive pair of headphones.
