Sendle’s international shipping an unlock for SMEs in time for Christmas

The new service lets businesses ship to customers in 220 countries for global flat rates.

Australian courier service Sendle has started the rollout of its international door-to-door delivery service, with customers within 15km of Sydney's CBD being able to take advantage of it from today.

The service offers the carbon-neutral delivery of parcels to 220 countries and territories for global flat rates. Pricing starts at $14.95 for a 250g package, and according to Sendle, is typically 20% cheaper than normal post.

Sendle co-founder and CEO, James Chin Moody, said Sendle's vision is to level the playing field "by unlocking the power of big business logistics for those at the smaller end of town."

"Our new international shipping service will save small business owners time, money and a trip to the Post Office, allowing them to focus on what really matters — efficiently exporting their products and scaling their business."

In what is becoming an increasingly global market with the arrival of Amazon, it's becoming more important than ever for small businesses to be able to ship products worldwide – and to do it quickly and cheaply.

“With a recent study estimating that 20% of all e-commerce would be cross-border by 2022, this is more important now than ever before for thousands of Aussie small businesses looking to compete in the age of Amazon,” said Moody.

Sendle offers three different plans: Easy, Premium and Pro. For each plan, there are set prices based on the package weight and the international zone. Free pickup is standard and you can earn Velocity Points on both the Easy and Premium plans.

Currently, Sendle's service is available to Sydney businesses in 183 postcodes and will be rolled out nationally in 2018.
