SEGA 3D Classics Collection coming to Australia

Peter Terlato 15 August 2016

With nine classic titles, there's something for everyone.

If you grew up in the 90's, it was your duty to foil Doctor Eggman's plans for world domination, destroy tanks with missiles fired from a helicopter and race karts around Snowhill Drive or Octopus Oval in pursuit of gold trophies.

Sound familiar? It should. These were the afternoon pastimes for many young Australians who owned and played SEGA Mega Drive and Master System.

Soon gamers will be able to get their hands on an entire compilation of remastered versions of classic SEGA games in 3D for Nintendo 3DS.

The SEGA 3D Classics Collection contains seven games from the consoles' back catalogues including Sonic The Hedgehog, Thunder Blade, Power Drift, Galaxy Force II, Puyo Puyo 2, Fantasy Zone II and Altered Beast.

But that’s not all. Also included are two 3DS Australian-first bonus games: Maze Walker and Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa.

The game comes dressed in box art designed by none other than Pokémon art director Ken Sugimori.

Importantly, these games are not just copies of the originals but remastered, redeveloped versions, enhanced to produce a captivating 3D experience.

The SEGA 3D Classics Collection hits Australian shelves 4 November  2016.
