Score up to 25,000 bonus points with Qantas Cash
Top up your Qantas Cash travel card and earn thousands of bonus frequent flyer points on your next trip.
Just in time for the Easter long weekend, Qantas is rewarding frequent flyers with thousands of bonus points when they top up their Qantas Cash card.
Until 9 April 2018, you can earn between 5,000 and 25,000 Qantas Points depending on how much money you are loading on the card. You can compare the breakdown of bonus points in the table below.
|Load amount (in equivalent foreign currency)||Number of bonus Qantas Points|
|AUD$2,000 to $5,999||5,000|
|AUD$6,000 to $9,999||15,000|
|AUD$10,000 or more||25,000|
You’ll also continue to earn 1.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases. So if you load your card with $10,000 and use that money to make purchases overseas, you’ll get a total of 40,000 Qantas Points. That’s almost enough points to fly Economy from Sydney to Los Angeles (45,000 points) and is more than enough for the same flight to Shanghai (35,000 points).
You can load 10 foreign currencies onto the travel card, with supported currencies including USD, GBP, SGD, EUR, NZD, HKD, JPY, CAD, THB and AED. And when you move your Australian dollars into a supported currency, they’ll be locked in at the current exchange rate and you can use the card to make international transactions without incurring currency conversion fees (as you would with most debit cards or credit cards). Even if you’re not taking an overseas trip, this card could also come in handy if you frequently shop with overseas merchants and you want to earn points while avoiding extra costs.
If you haven’t already got a Qantas Cash card, you can apply for one easily online. You’ll just need to include your Frequent Flyer membership number, add your contact information and set a password. You’ll also need to verify your identity with a driver’s licence or passport number. If you’re not already a Qantas Frequent Flyer, you can join the program for free and save the $89.50 joining fee when you apply for the Qantas Cash card.
