SBS announces its December schedule for the NBA 2019/20 season

SBS has today released its December schedule for the NBA. The free-to-air broadcaster has already changed its strategy by deviating from the original Saturday and Sunday games and adding in some Monday fixtures.
While this will likely confuse people who had adjusted to the broadcast schedule it's a good move. When you're booking in broadcast games over a month in advance you never know which starting fives are set to take the court.
It also will see SBS not have overlap from the ESPN games shown on Kayo Sports, Foxtel and Fetch TV. But best of all it's great news for fans who can now get an extra day of NBA games weekly.
The ESPN broadcast schedule ignores showing NBA in Australia on a Monday due to the heavy contingent of NFL matches. This is due to it being Sunday in the US and the NBA avoiding a prime-time head-to-head with the NFL.

Again adding Monday games sounds somewhat dubious as most people will be at work, but the games are on quite early. As the SBS games are available via SBS On Demand the eastern states will be able to watch just before work or during their commute.
December SBS NBA schedule preview
SBS has been able to muster up some juicy match-ups. Los Angeles Lakers fans are the biggest beneficiaries with five games to be shown.
Just last month the Dallas Mavericks and LA Lakers produced a game of the season candidate that went to overtime. Now SBS has two more matches from the series on 2 and 30 of December.
Fans who don't want to fork out hundreds of dollars for NBA League Pass get to see MVP candidates Luka Doncic and LeBron James duel it out again. Last time they both posted triple-doubles and LeBron showed love to Luka calling him a "bad motherf***er".

Another notable game on the calendar is the potential NBA finals preview. Western conference heavyweight LA Clippers will play eastern conference contenders Milwaukee Bucks.
Earlier this year when the pair played fans were robbed when Kawhi Leonard sat out due to "load management", which in turn landed the Clippers a $50,000 fine for skipping out on the ESPN contest.
Fingers crossed this time Leonard suits up. Especially now running mate Paul George is fit and firing. Can the two stop reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo from wreaking havoc for the Bucks? You'll have to watch to find out.
