Pre-orders for the new Galaxy S20 phones will score a free pair of Galaxy Buds+.

Samsung announced its new Galaxy S20 range at its Galaxy Unpacked event this morning and it's certainly not wasting time in terms of making pre-orders available. Although, there is a slightly longer wait time for actual phones than many pundits predicted. Here's what you need to know if you're keen on a Galaxy S20 handset in Australia.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy S20 phones cost in Australia?

All up, Samsung will sell 7 different Galaxy S20 phones, taking into consideration that some models will sell with either a 4G or 5G variant, and some will ship with either 128GB or 512GB of storage. Here's the full table of all Samsung Galaxy S20 variants and their local pricing:

Galaxy S20 5G12GB + 128GBCosmic Grey, Cloud Blue, Cloud Pink$1,499

While Samsung is producing a 256GB storage variant of the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, it appears that those models won't be officially launching here in Australia.

When will the Galaxy S20 range go on sale in Australia?

Samsung and its carrier partners will open up pre-orders for the new Galaxy S20 phones in Australia from 9am on 12 February 2020, just a few hours after its Galaxy Unpacked event. However actual handsets won't go on sale in Australia until 6 March 2020.

Is there a pre-order bonus for the Galaxy S20 range in Australia?

In order to entice Australian consumers to part with their cash, Samsung has traditionally offered some kind of pre-order bonus with its handsets. In Australia, you'll get a pair of Samsung's new Galaxy Buds+ headphones, valued at $299 outright.

Telstra announced its own pre-order bonus for customers who order the Galaxy S20 on contract at any time from 12 February 2020 through 3 April 2020. Telstra customers will be able to score the slightly more expensive Samsung Galaxy S20+ 128GB for the price of the Samsung Galaxy S20 if they order through Telstra.
