Samsung Galaxy J3: Australian price and specifications

Alex Kidman 20 June 2016

Samsung’s latest affordable smartphone to hit Australian shores is the budget-priced Galaxy J3.

Like the Samsung Galaxy J2 and Samsung Galaxy J1 before it, the Samsung Galaxy J3 isn’t a high-end smartphone. But with a price point of just $329 outright, it never was going to be on par with the Galaxy S family of devices. In style terms it’s somewhat reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S5, as was the J2 before it.

Underneath the 5-inch 1280x720 display Samsung includes a 1.2Ghz Quad-Core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, expandable via microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy J3 runs Android 5.1.1 ("Lollipop"), which is a little disappointing for a 2016 era smartphone given that Android N is just around the corner. It wouldn’t be wise to pick up the J3 and expect too many official Android OS upgrades.

Samsung is selling the Samsung Galaxy J3 through retailers and its own website for $329 outright. Here are its core specifications.
