Samsung feels the force with Droid Repair Bay for Gear VR

Samsung's jumping on The Last Jedi hype train with its latest Gear VR experience, which it will showcase at stores all across Australia.

Note: This story contains no spoilers for The Last Jedi, so you can read on even if you're yet to catch the film.

If you've been trapped under a rock for the past six months or so, you may not have noticed the tsunami of hype surrounding the latest Star Wars flick, The Last Jedi. As has long been the case, you can get Last Jedi everything if you're a Star Wars superfan, including the ability to travel to a galaxy far, far away with your Samsung Galaxy phone.

Droid Repair Bay is a Star Wars experience built for the Samsung Gear VR and compatible handsets that casts you in the role of a droid repairer helping out the resistance by fixing broken droid components, including the always-lovable BB-8.

Droid Repair Bay is available now if you've got a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone such as the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or Galaxy Note 8 as well as a Gear VR headset.

Samsung is also using the experience as a way to showcase the potential of its VR platform by presenting it at Samsung stores across Australia from today through to 1 February 2018. Specifically, you'll be able to pull on the virtual droid repair gloves at the following stores:
