Safe as Houses

A chilling look at Australia’s most infamous addresses.

A home is meant to be a place of sanctuary and safety. It’s our port in the storms of day-to-day life, our small island of peace and security. But sometimes the greatest danger lurks inside a home’s walls.

Each week, our Safe as Houses series looks inside some of Australia’s most notorious homes. They’ve been the scenes of shocking crimes and horrific tragedies. Will anyone pay to buy or rent such a house? Can an infamous house shed its past and once again be reclaimed as a safe haven (and a sound investment), or will these addresses be forever haunted by the crimes that defined them?

WARNING: The following articles contain descriptions of violent crimes some may find disturbing
