Vodafone's week-long flash sale on all S21 devices is giving the iPhone 13 a run for its money.

Have you been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy S21 for long? Now's your chance to get any of the models for $500 less thanks to Vodafone's flash sale.

You can take advantage of this offer until 11 October when you pair a new S21 with one of Vodafone's Infinite plans and stay connected for the full 24- or 36-month contract.

Ordering online will also get you a 50% discount on your plan fees for 3 months. This is available on all of Vodafone's Infinite plans except its newly released Ultra+ plan.

Instead, you'll score $20 off each month on the unlimited data Ultra+ plan for the life of your plan.

How does the S21 discount work?

The $500 discount applies to all models of the S21 (including the S21+ and S21 Ultra), and across all storage variants (128GB or 256GB).

Keep in mind the offer only applies if you stay connected for the entire life of the contract. If you leave early, you'll have to pay the full remaining non-discounted RRP of the handset, minus any payments you've already made.

There's no restriction over which Vodafone plan you pair it with, so if you feel like you're paying too much on your plan, you can drop down to a cheaper one from Vodafone.

How do Vodafone's S21 plans compare?

To help you figure out how good a deal this is, we've compared the amount you'd pay for a Samsung S21 128GB handset if you purchased it on a 24-month contract from Vodafone, Telstra and Optus.

We've used the cheapest plan from each provider for our comparison and included any current promotional offers valid as of 5 October.

What do you get with a Vodafone plan?

As one of Australia's 3 major providers, Vodafone offers a few perks with its plans:

  • 5G access on any Vodafone Infinite plan, so long as you have a 5G capable device and live in a covered area.
  • No excess data charges – keep browsing past your data cap for free at a reduced download speed (speed depends on your plan).
  • 100+ international minutes on most of its plans.
  • 3 months of Amazon Music Unlimited for free.

How does the S21 stack up against the iPhone 13?

If you're not super fussed about Android vs iOS but only care about getting a good handset, we've got your back.

Finder's Global Reviews Editor and phone expert, Tegan Jones, explains that if you're an Android fan or simply looking for a good deal on one of the best phones of the year, the S21 is a good pick.

"If you're looking for a high quality 2021 handset and don't want to pay brand new iPhone 13 prices, you might want to consider the Samsung Galaxy 21 range," Jones says.

"They were already great phones, but made even more worth it once you knock $500 off. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is particularly impressive. It had the 120Hz variable refresh rate 8 months before we saw it in the iPhone 13 Pro Models.

"The camera is also great, performing well in regular point-and-click situations as well as at night time or while zooming. You'll also find beefed up specs, good battery life and a device that is compatible with Samsung's S Pen, which was previously restricted to the Samsung Note series."

Remember, the flash sale ends on 11 October, so you'll need to get in quick to take advantage of it.
