Anything else I need to know? These seasonal flights will run until October, operated by a new fleet of 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The idyllic Seychelles are popular with sun-seeking honeymooners, couples and families.


Delta Air Lines: Los Angeles-Paris

Where is the stopover? Non-stop, direct
Who else competes on this route? Norwegian, Air France, Air Tahiti Nui and XL Airways
Anything else I need to know? Travellers can connect to more than 100 onward destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India via easy connections with Delta's joint venture partners Air France and KLM.


Delta Air Lines: Los Angeles-Amsterdam

Where is the stopover? Non-stop, direct

Anything else I need to know? Criss-crossed with canals, quaint bridges and cobblestone streets, visitors can aimlessly wander or cycle around Amsterdam, admiring the colourful narrow buildings and leafy alleys.

Anything else I need to know? Wuxi is an old city in the southern Jiangsu province of China.


Jetstar Japan: Tokyo-Miyazaki

Anything else I need to know? Miyazaki is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyushu.

Anything else I need to know? Air Asia's overall frequency for this sector increases to 11 weekly flights.


Vietjet Air: Ho Chi Minh City-Phnom Penh

When does it launch? November 2017

Where is the stopover? Non-stop, direct
Who else competes on this route? Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines and Cambodia Angkor Air
Anything else I need to know? This low-cost carrier was the first privately owned new-age airline in Vietnam.


Philippine Airlines: Cebu-Beijing

AirAsia: Johor Bahru-Macau

Anything else I need to know? Johor Bahru is a bustling city and the state capital of Johor in southern Malaysia, located just across the causeway from Singapore.


KLM Royal Dutch Airlines: Amsterdam-Fortaleza

When does it launch? May 2018
How often does it fly? Twice weekly and then three times weekly from July 2018
Where is the stopover? Non-stop, direct
Who else competes on this route? No competitors operate direct flights on this route
Anything else I need to know? Fortaleza is the state capital of Ceará, located in north-eastern Brazil.


Air France's JOON to fly two long-haul international routes

Next year, Air France will add two new long-haul flights to its schedule, to be served by its new low-cost carrier JOON.

From May 2018, the airline's A340-300 aircraft will operate twice-weekly services from Paris to Fortaleza, Brazil and thrice-weekly services from Paris to Mahe Island in the Seychelles.

Air France revealed that from December 2017, JOON will begin its initial European operations from Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport to Barcelona, Berlin Tegel, Lisbon and Porto.

Virgin Australia and Flight Centre extend partnership

Flight Centre Travel Group and Virgin Australia have entered a new 10-year agreement, which covers all of the travel agency's leisure and corporate brands, as well as every key geographic region.

Flight Centre and Virgin have been working together since the airline's inception as Virgin Blue in 2000.

The companies will continue to develop and market new end-to-end products and initiatives for customers.
