British Airways to codeshare with Loganair

British Airways has announced a new codeshare agreement with Scotland's Loganair.

The agreement, effective 1 September 2017, will allow Scottish passengers to book directly onto services on British Airways' global network at London's Heathrow, Gatwick and City Airports to over 200 destinations.

Until 2008, Loganair was a British Airways franchisee and since then has been a franchise airline of UK-based independent regional carrier Flybe. However, on 31 August 2017, Loganair will become an independent airline.

As part of the codeshare agreement, Loganair passengers can connect onto British Airways domestic services at Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, using a “through ticket”, without having to re-check baggage.

Under the Scottish government's Air Discount Scheme, flights from the Highlands and Scottish Islands to the above-mentioned cities will also be eligible for the codeshare agreement.

American Airlines to end L.A. to Minneapolis service

As of February next year, American Airlines will no longer fly between Los Angeles and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

American currently runs daily flights, served by an Airbus A319, between the Californian hub and Minnesota's twin cities. The full-service carrier's schedule shows the last flight as operating on 6 February 2018.

Delta ceases New York to Quebec City route

From October this year, Delta Air Lines will no longer operate services between New York and Quebec City.

The airline had been flying daily between the two east coast cities, utilising Endeavor Air CRJ200 aircraft.
