RBN is the native cryptocurrency of the Ribbon Finance protocol. Ribbon Finance is a decentralised finance (DeFi) platform designed to generate sustainable yield and enhance the risk/return profile of a user’s portfolio. To enhance risk/return profiles the platform blends various structured products, such as cryptocurrency futures and options. According to Ribbon Finance documentation, the platform was developed on the Ethereum blockchain. Its core products include the Theta Vault and Theta Vault Yearn. The Theta Vault is a yield-generating smart contract that automatically runs certain options strategies. Currently, the vault implements a covered call options strategy focusing on ETH. In comparison, the Theta Vault Yearn works by periodically converting its entire USDC balance into yvUSDC. This in turn provides users with exposure to the yields that are produced in the Yearn Finance DeFi application. RBN in the native governance token of the Ribbon Finance ecosystem. Token holders can use RBN to either vote on or submit proposals regarding future development proposals. Furthermore, RBN can also be staked and locked in the Ribbon Finance platform to produce increased rewards and provide an incentive for liquidity provision.
