Sukin recently added a new mask to its skincare collection, the 2-in-1 Coffee & Coconut Exfoliating Masque. The product works as a face mask, but then doubles up as an exfoliator during the removal process.

Coffee scrubs were all the rage a couple of years back, and I distinctly remember my Instagram feed being filled with people taking shower selfies with coffee beans smeared all over their faces. This face mask gives you the same effect but with an added boost of hydration.

What's in it?

This mask has two key ingredients: coffee grinds and coconut shells. The coffee scent is a delight when combined with the tropical coconut smell.

The coffee grinds in this mask have loads of antioxidants, which can help to slow down the ageing process and keep your skin looking fresh as a daisy. Of course, the coffee grinds are also packed with caffeine, which helps to keep your skin tight and bright, making this mask a great way to wake your skin up in the morning.

The added coconut shells are designed to work in tandem with the coffee grinds to offer an intense exfoliation. As a bonus, the exfoliating mask also contains aloe vera to hydrate your skin and leave it feeling soft and supple.

How do you use it?

Applying this mask is a breeze. Lather it onto damp skin and leave it for about 15 minutes. Once you're ready to take it off, don't wash it all off straight away. Instead, add a little bit of water to reactivate the ingredients and massage it into your skin using circular motions. This is the best technique for maximum exfoliation. Goodbye, dead skin cells!

The verdict?

Overall, the mask slots perfectly into my skincare routine. It provides all the benefits of a mask while also exfoliating my skin, which means less time spent in the bathroom each morning. A mere 15 minutes for two steps of my beauty routine sounds pretty good to me!

I have normal skin, but it is acne-prone, which makes trying out new skincare products a risk. This product treated my acne-prone skin relatively well. My complexion was left smooth and soft and felt so much more hydrated. My one criticism is that I had to use quite a lot of product to cover my entire face.

I also really love that this is an exfoliant that uses natural ingredients. Microbead-based exfoliants, like many of the ones you'd find at the supermarket, are terrible for the environment. Sukin products are vegan, cruelty-free and free of parabens. It's nice to use a product that's good for me and good for the Earth too.

Sukin's Coffee & Coconut Exfoliating Masque is a fantastic option for those who want to cut a few steps out of their beauty routine. You'll also enjoy it if you love coffee and coconut scented products. The relaxation of a face mask combined with the fresh smell of coffee in the morning is a heavenly way to start your day.

Where can you buy it?

This 2-in-1 beauty mask and exfoliator retails for $16.95. You can purchase the Coffee & Coconut Exfoliating Masque from Sukin, or at stockists such as Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.
