Return flights to Japan are now available from as low as $428 from Australia, when flying with AirAsia.

Sample fares available in this sale include Perth to Osaka for $428 return, Melbourne to Tokyo for $447 return and Sydney to Osaka for $476 return.

Flights are available from 13 September until 5 February, including dates during the Japanese ski season. Availability is limited during peak ski season, but fares are available if you’re flexible with your dates.

Paired with this five-night ski package in Hakuba (which can be accessed by bus or rail from Tokyo or Osaka) we found for $789, a create-your-own ski holiday including flights can be had for as little as $1217.

Compared with other airlines, these flights are as little as half the price of what other carriers are charging for these routes.

Recently named the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, a title the airline has maintained for the past eight years, AirAsia only includes a seat on the plane in sale fares. Extras like checked baggage, meals and in-flight entertainment can be added on for an additional cost.

The sale ends at midnight on 25 September or when sold out.
