What is Rai Reflex Index?
Rai Reflex Index (RAI) is the native cryptocurrency of the Reflexer ecosystem, which can be best described as a platform that allows users to deploy their crypto collateral to devise reflex indexes. Reflex indexes are stable assets that are able to operate independently and are not pegged to any external commodity, akin to how the US Dollar is, i.e. despite it being a tangible store of value (SOV) it does not have any asset backing it while being regarded as a monetarily stable medium of exchange.
According to the official project whitepaper whitepaper RAI is designed to serve as an ETH-backed reflex index that utilizes a “managed float regime”. What this means is that the trade rate of the RAI/USD pair is decided by its investor demand and supply ratio. To this point, the dynamics of RAIs tokenomics are managed by individuals generating the asset (using their ETH) as well as those individuals holding, speculating on the price of the asset.
