Qatar sale: Explore Italy with flights to Rome for just $996 return
All roads lead to Rome. This one leads you there for under $1,000 return.
The world's best airline, Qatar Airways, has flights to Europe on sale right now. While the official site boasts flights from $1,025 return, we've found flights on the five-star airline for a touch less when travelling to Rome.
It's all thanks to online travel agent I Want That Flight, which has fares to Rome from $996 return. You'll have to fly out of Canberra to catch these stellar prices, but if you're based elsewhere, here's what you stand to pay:
|Canberra||Rome||$996||Book your Rome flight now|
|Perth||Rome||$1,037||Book your Rome flight now|
|Adelaide||Rome||$1,045||Book your Rome flight now|
|Melbourne||Rome||$1,046||Book your Rome flight now|
|Sydney||Rome||$1,061||Book your Rome flight now|
Flights out of Canberra, Perth and Adelaide are in May 2018 and flights out of Melbourne and Sydney are in November 2017. Both are top options when visiting the Italian capital. November sees the crowds thinning out as the city starts to cool down during the lead-up to winter. May is more ideal for weather since it's edging into the start of the European summer but as it's not quite there, the crowds will still be at bay.
It's always a good sign when you can get flights to Rome for under $1,000 return. In comparison, the other luxury airline offering sale seats to Rome is Cathay Pacific, which has flights priced almost $100 more at $1,099 return. Cathay also doesn't fly out of Canberra which is a bonus if you're taking off from the Aussie capital.
All flights can be booked through I Want That Flight at the above prices, though if you want to play the price-match game, you can hit up Flight Centre to see if they'll match and take $1 off your fare.
Just remember to do it all before midnight tomorrow AKA 19 September which is when the sale ends so you don't miss out.
