Qantas sale: Fly to Melbourne for $99 from which cities?

The cheapest fare in this sale is Sydney to Melbourne from a cool $99 one way.

How do these prices compare?

Compared to the fares in Qantas' most recent Fly Away Sale these prices tend to be slightly more expensive.

While you're getting the same price as that sale from Hobart, the Gold Coast and Sydney, the prices have gone up between 3-6% in some cases.

If you're looking for a cheaper fare with included baggage minus your in-flight meal then consider flying with Virgin Australia who can get you from Sydney to Melbourne for nearly 30% less (as compared on KAYAK) in the same period.

This Qantas sale is available until midnight 3 May, unless sold out prior.

What's the catch?

  • Flexibility: Great. Travellers are entitled to unlimited, free date changes until 31 January 2022 for domestic flights booked until 30 April 2021.
  • Airline: Great. Qantas is Australia's national carrier and offers full-service fares. That's checked baggage, in-flight meals and entertainment all included in your airfare.
  • Frequent flyer points: Good. Earn Frequent Flyer points when you fly with this Qantas sale. That means a minimum of 800 Qantas points and 10 status credits to be nabbed in this Qantas sale.
  • Travel time: Great. Don't worry about stressful transfer times with direct flights.
  • Weather: Great. March to May is the best time to visit Melbourne as you miss the city's hottest and wettest months. The city's alleyways and cafes are yours to explore with fewer tourists after the busy summer period.
