You can take advantage of a competitive earn rate and boost your rewards with bonus points when you use the Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard. To give some examples, you could fly return from Perth to Singapore in business class (50,000 points each way) or return from Melbourne to Los Angeles in economy (45,000 points each way) with 100,000 Qantas Points.

Although the total bonus points offer is high, it’s important to pay attention to the offer conditions. Unlike some other Qantas Frequent Flyer credit cards, the spend requirement is staggered and you won’t get the total bonus points until you’ve paid the second year annual fee.

How To Apply

You can apply for the Qantas Premier Platinum online in 10 minutes. Before you apply, check if you meet the eligibility criteria and that you have the necessary information to complete the application:

Eligibility criteria

  • Income. You must earn at least $35,000 per year to apply for this card.
  • Current Qantas Premier cardholder status. You won't be eligible to apply for this card if you are the primary cardholder of another Qantas Premier credit card account.

Card Benefits

  • Discounted annual fee. Apply by 30 May 2019 and save with a reduced annual fee of $149 for the first year ($299 p.a. thereafter).
  • Up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points. You can earn 70,000 bonus Qantas Points when you apply and get approved for a Qantas Premier Platinum by 30 May 2019 and spend at least $3,500 on eligible purchases within the first 90 days from card approval. Receive an additional 30,000 bonus Qantas Points within 12 weeks after you pay the second year's annual fee. Eligible purchases include most everyday spending but exclude things like cash advances, balance transfers, BPAY payments and government related transactions. Your bonus points will be credited to your account within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the spend requirement.

    Hi,

Does signing up to this credit card waives the $99 Qantas frequent flyer program joining fee? I am currently not a member of their program.

    Thanks,
    Andy

      Hi Andy,

Thank you for reaching out to Finder.

Part of the requirement to apply for a Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard is that you must be a current Qantas Frequent Flyer member. I’m afraid you may not be eligible if you are not a Qantas frequent flyer member. This is indicated on the above article under the eligibility criteria below “How To Apply”.

      Hope this helps.

      Kind Regards,
      Mai

If I have a Qantas platinum credit card and shop at Woolworths will I get qantas points automatically, if so if I like a Woolworths card to qantas points and swipe that as well will I get double points?

      Hi James,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder! Please see answers to your questions below:
      1. Qantas platinum credit card — when you use it to shop at Woolworths, you will earn points for your purchases – 1pt per $1 spent.
      2. Woolworths Rewards Card – if you swipe this card but paid your purchases via Qantas CC, you will also earn points for this.

Since both cards are different and separate, when both are used for eligible purchases, you will still earn points for each card.

So yes, double points – 1 for Qantas — which will be credited to your Qantas Account and another 1 point for your Woolworths rewards account.

      Hope this clarifies things!

      Best,
      Nikki

      Hi Nikki,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

As per this page, currently, two providers such as Virgin Money and Citi, allow you to balance transfer debts from credit cards, personal loans and lines of credit. If you consider applying for this Qantas card, please contact their customer support team if you may process a balance transfer with your personal loan. Please make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features and details of the card, as well as the relevant PDS/ T&Cs of the card before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

Does a monthly payment income stream from the self managed superfund qualify as income to apply for this card

      Hi Natalie,

Thank you for reaching out to Finder.

Yes, SMSF can be used as an income to apply for this card. If you are a pensioner or retiree, you may be required to provide a letter from Centrelink showing your name and the permanent government pension amount, your three most recent bank statements showing proof of regular payments, your annual superannuation statement, which includes an indexed pension amount, or your most recent self-managed superannuation tax return (must be less than 15 months old).

Hope this helps and let us know if you need further assistance.

      Kind Regards,
      Mai

    Hi,

I am thinking to sign up Platinum Premier card but I have question regarding Qantas lounge access. I am planning trip to overseas in next few months and it is me, my partner and 3 year old toddler. On ad it says that 2 complimentary invitation to Qantas lounge on anniversary. Does it means that I cannot access lounge until 12 month period is over?

      Hi Safa,

Thank you for leaving a question and for visiting Finder.

That is correct. You will receive your lounge invitation after 12 months. The invitation is usually sent after you have paid the annual fee of the credit card. Good news is this card has a complimentary travel insurance that may cover you while you are away. Just please make sure you go through the eligibility conditions of this card so you can be covered.

Hope this is helpful. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

      Kind Regards,
      Mai

      March 23, 2019

      Hi Dawn,

Thank you for reaching out to Finder.

Yes, aside from being a Qantas Club member with lounge invitation. you also need to book a ticket with Qantas (QF) flight number to access Qantas and partner lounges when travelling. When you arrive at a lounge you have to show your Qantas Club card along with your ticket or boarding pass.

Hope this helps and please let us know if you need further assistance and we’ll be glad to assist.

      Have a good day!

      Kind Regards,
      Mai

      Hi Ray,

Thanks for reaching out to Finder.

Upon checking, Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard is not on the list of credit cards with Apple Pay which can be found on this page. You may also want to contact your credit card issuer and confirm it with them.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Charisse

      Hi Andrew,

Thank you for visiting Finder and for your question.

Please note that the card reviewed above (Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard) is a credit card and not a debit card. This means that it can be used for eftpos payments, however, it is not reloadable as it has a credit limit that you can use for spending.

      Hope this helps! 😊

Please feel free to contact us back should you require further assistance.

      Kind Regards,

      Hi Mrs Schimmel,

Thank you for reaching out to Finder.

I have already edited your question to remove your card personal information. You may need to confirm with Qantas if your card/account is still active for you to know what benefits are still available for you to use. Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Reggie
