Why am I unable to join QANTAS PREMIER PLATINUM CARD when I am a Pensioner with no income other than Pension which exceeds $35,000?

    • finder Customer Care
      JhezelynJuly 19, 2018Staff

      Hello James,

      Thank you for your comment.

Please note that every issuer has their own set of eligibility criteria. Some do not see pensions as an income. As for this card, they accept Age Pension, Disability Pension and Widower’s Pension. Bottom line is that you need to meet the minimum income requirements to apply for a card.

Regarding you not being approved for this card, you may need to review your eligibility and requirements. Please refer to our guides below about the reasons why your application was rejected.

      I hope this helps.

Hi, I am travelling overseas tomorrow and would like to redeem my complimentary Qantas lounge passes but do not know how to do this. I am not flying Qantas, but another OneWorld Airline, but still should be able to use the lounge as this comes with this credit card. Can you please advise?

    • finder Customer Care
      NikkiJune 27, 2018Staff

      Hi Amanda,

      Thanks for your message.

Complimentary invitations can only be used when the customer is departing on a Qantas operated flight and booked on the QF flight number. All you need to show is your Qantas Club card along with your ticket or boarding pass. Since you are not flying Qantas for this trip, even if you are a Qantas Platinum Mastercard holder, access to this lounge is not prohibited.

      Hope this clarifies.

      Cheers,
      Nikki

I have a Nab Visa frequent flyer card and an ANZ visa Frequent flyer card personally.
Does that make me ineligible for the bonus 75,000 points if I join for a Qantas premier platinum card?

      Hi Greg,

Thanks for your message and for visiting finder – the leading comparison website & general information service built to give you advice in your buying decision needs. How are you doing today?

You can definitely apply and be eligible for 75,000 bonus points when you apply for the Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard.

You can take advantage of this bonus points offer when you apply for this card by 30 April 2018 and spend $3,000 in the first 90 days from card approval. That’s enough points for an economy flight from Sydney to London. Note that cash advances, balance transfers, refunds, chargebacks and special promotions are not counted as eligible purchases and do not contribute to this spending requirement.

Hope this helps! Feel free to message us anytime should you have further questions.

      Cheers,

Could you please explain how balance transfer is different with Qantas credit card?

I am Qantas CC user. My closing balance in last statement included my purchases and balance transfer. I paid back for all the purchases yet I was charged interest. I checked with customer care and they advised I need to pay my account in full even though the balance transfer is interest free for 15 months. Looks like Qantas promo is misleading?

      JonathanFebruary 26, 2018Staff

Hi Randomuser, thanks for your inquiry.

Since the Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard only comes with 0% on balance transfers, all purchases that you make will be charged at the purchase interest rate 19.99% p.a. Purchases will not attract interest only when the entire balance has been paid, this includes the balance transfer debt.

      Best,

      Jonathan
