You can take advantage of a competitive earn rate and boost your rewards with bonus points when you use the Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard. To give some examples, you could fly return from Perth to Singapore in business class (50,000 points each way) or return from Melbourne to Los Angeles in economy (45,000 points each way) with 120,000 Qantas Points.

Although the total bonus points offer is high, it’s important to pay attention to the offer conditions. Unlike some other Qantas Frequent Flyer credit cards, the spend requirement is staggered and you won’t get the total bonus points unless you meet the spend requirement for all six months.

How to apply

You can apply for the Qantas Premier Platinum online in 10 minutes. Before you apply, check if you meet the eligibility criteria and that you have the necessary information to complete the application:

Eligibility criteria

  • Income. You must earn at least $35,000 per year to apply for this card.
  • Current Qantas Premier cardholder status. You won't be eligible to apply for this card if you are the primary cardholder of another Qantas Premier credit card account.

Card benefits

  • Discounted annual fee. Apply by 31 October 2019 and save with a reduced annual fee of $199 for the first year ($299 p.a. thereafter).
  • Up to 120,000 bonus Qantas Points. Each month for the first 6 months from card approval, you will earn 20,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend at least $1,500 on eligible purchases. You must apply and get approved for a new Qantas Premier Platinum by 31 October 2019. Eligible purchases include most everyday spending but exclude things like cash advances, balance transfers, BPAY payments and government related transactions. Your bonus points will be credited to your account within 6 to 8 weeks of meeting the spend requirement.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, this card charges a standard annual fee of $299 p.a.
  • Purchase rate. The variable purchase interest rate for this card is 19.99% p.a.

I note the exclusion of Government Related Transactions, would this include paying local council rates on this card?

      Hi Keith,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

Yes. Government related transactions examples are transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court related costs

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

      Hi Grace,

Thanks for your question. The 120,000 bonus Qantas Points offer is available to new approved Qantas Premier Platinum credit card account holders who apply by 31 October 2019, 11:59pm (AEST). Please note that the 120,000 bonus Qantas Points will not be awarded if you as the primary cardholder currently hold a Qantas Premier Everyday, Qantas Premier Platinum or Qantas Premier Titanium credit card, or have closed, or qualified for bonus Qantas Points on any of those Qantas Premier credit cards within 12 months of an approved application.

As a friendly reminder, check the eligibility requirements of the card before proceeding with your application. Also, read about its features and benefits and see how it fits your financial needs. Additionally, it’s helpful to review the PDS and Terms & Conditions of the card before fully committing to the card. You may also reach out to the bank if you have any clarifications.

      Hope this helps!

      Best,
      Nikki

Hi, I currently have Citibank reward signature credit card. Am I eligible to earn the bonus point from Qantas Premier Platinum Master card given that the card provider for this card is Citi also?

      Hi Ujwol,

      Thanks for contacting Finder.

Yes, you may take advantage of the 120,000 bonus Qantas Points from the Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard even though you have an existing Citibank Reward Signature Credit Card. You shouldn’t have either Qantas Premier Everyday, Qantas Premier Platinum or Qantas Premier Titanium Credit Card for the last 12 months to receive the bonus qantas points.

      I hope this helps.

Please do not hesitate to reach out again to us if you have additional questions.

      Kind regards,
      Ash

    Hi,

If I haven’t met the spend requirement for one month, does that mean I will not be eligible for the other five months as well? Given that I will meet the spend requirement for the other remaining months.

    Thank you.

      Hi Gane,

No, you may still earn the 20,000 bonus points every month even if you have missed meeting the $1,500 required spend for the previous month.

      I hope this helps.

Please do not hesitate to reach out again if you have additional questions.

      Kind regards,

      Hi Michael,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

I’m afraid that BPAY payments will not let you earn points or rewards using this Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard since it’s one of excluded eligible transactions. You may refer to number 7 under Important Information after you click on the green go to site button and redirected to their official application page.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,

      Hi Ian,

      Thank you for your comment.

If you’re referring to the additional cardholder, yes, your spouse can be that. An additional cardholder annual fee, currently $50, applies per additional cardholder.

      Regards,
      Jhezelyn
