$199 Qantas sale: Hot fares for Queensland and NT
Things are looking bright for travel in the Top End and Far North Queensland in 2022.
Look out Top End, Qantas is adding 2 new routes connecting Darwin to Far North Queensland from next year.To celebrate the new routes taking off, special fares are available from $199 one way.
Here are the important details:
- Darwin to Cairns from $199 one way launching from 29 March 2022 with 3 weekly return services.
- Darwin to Townsville from $199 one way launching from 31 January 2022 with 3 weekly return services.
Travel dates on sale for both routes start from their respective launch dates until 2 October 2022. That's well over 6 months to plan plenty of trips.

The flying kangaroo is setting its sights on Darwin as a new connective hub. Last week the airline confirmed that it will temporarily operate its flagship flights from Australia to London via Darwin when flights resume next month.
The change will be in place until at least April 2022 with the uncertainty of when Western Australia will open its borders to the rest of the country and the world.
"Travellers will be able to earn and use points on these new flights and enjoy our premium service, whether it's complimentary food and drinks, baggage or access to our lounges in Darwin, Townsville and Cairns," said QantasLink CEO John Gissing.
