Qantas sale drops new Queensland fares for 2022 travel dates

Not only do we get seven new routes from the flying kangaroo, but there are also three special fares to celebrate in this Qantas sale.
The new journeys include Townsville-Adelaide/Melbourne/Sydney, Adelaide-Cairns/Hobart, Sydney-Uluru and Perth-Gold Coast.
"As most international travel remains off-limits for now, Australians are taking more regular holidays within the country and we expect these new direct flights to key tourism destinations will be popular with travellers," said Qantas domestic and international CEO Andrew David.
The new routes cut transfer times for the following:
- Adelaide to Hobart from $139 one way
- Sydney to Townsville from $179 one way
- Perth to Gold Coast from $229
Flights take to the skies from mid-September 2021 with discount fares available for travel up to May 2022. That's coverage for spring, summer and autumn dates.

How do these Qantas sale prices compare?
Qantas gives its competitors a run for their money with these prices.
We've seen Virgin Australia fares for the Adelaide-Hobart route during these dates start from $154 one way. Flying with Qantas puts $15 one way back in your pocket, not bad at all considering you won't have to pay for refreshments.
Jetstar flies the route at the same time with prices starting at $107. Keep in mind that you have to pay additional charges if you want seat selection, checked baggage and food.
