What's more, you won't find the fares too expensive either when booking your seat in the latest Qantas sale.
Flights start from $519 return between Brisbane and Noumea or $549 return from Sydney to Noumea.

How good is this Qantas sale?
For a full-service journey, where bags, meals and entertainment are included, these prices are pretty hard to beat.
Depending on the route though, you could do better. But it depends on which other airlines are flying to your travel destination.
For example, if you're headed to Noumea, Skyscanner brings up Qantas as your cheapest option (we found fares from $498 return). The next price up is on Aircalin at almost $100 more.
If you're headed somewhere Jetstar or Virgin flies, you're likely to find a better price. For example, right now Virgin is running an islands sale with flights from Sydney to Fiji from $469 return.
That's $100 cheaper than Qantas BUT you won't get checked luggage, seat selection and meals included.
Upgrade to Choice (which includes seat selection and checked bags) and it'll bring your total to $498 return, which is still cheaper than Qantas, though you'll have to sort out meals and in-flight entertainment yourself.
These fares at a glance
- OK flexibility: Qantas no longer offers flexible flights, though as part of its Fly Well program if you or someone you're travelling with catches COVID and must isolate you may be able to change your flight fee-free. Altneratively, you may wish to consider travel insurance.
- Great airline: Qantas is one of the best airlines in the world, according to AirlineRatings. All fares include seat selection, checked luggage, meals and entertainment.
- Great frequent flyer points: Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn points and status credits on all flights in this sale.
- Great travel time: Flights are non-stop, getting you to your overseas holiday faster.
- Good weather: Visit New Zealand in summer for warm and dry hiking pursuits or to cruise the fjords or steal away to Johannesburg in February for summer weather and bird watching opportunities. While the islands might be calling, keep in mind that December to March is rainy season in New Caledonia (Noumea), so opt to travel at the end of March or beginning of April to catch these prices while avoiding heavy rainfall. Same goes for Hawaii which has its rainy season from November to March.
