Earn Qantas Points for every step you take with the Qantas Assure insurance program.

Struggling to get up for your morning run? Is your lawn looking a little shabby? Qantas’ latest rewards offer will give you just the motivation you need to get movin’!

From today, Qantas Frequent Flyers can pick up Qantas Points for everyday activities including walking, running, grabbing the groceries and mowing the lawn through Qantas Assure. Frequent Flyers who take out a Qantas Assure health insurance policy, which is provided through nib and endorsed by the National Heart Foundation, and download the app can now earn points as they stay active.

How can I earn points by staying active?

Once you’ve taken out an insurance policy, all you need to do is download the Qantas Assure App, which will monitor your steps through a wearable device (such as a Fitbit or Apple Watch) like a regular fitness app. As well as the satisfaction of reaching your fitness goals, you earn points with every step you take, every move you make – Qantas Assure will be watching you.

Don’t have a wearable? Don’t worry. You’ll receive your choice of an Apple Watch or a bonus 50,000 Qantas Points when you purchase an eligible Qantas Assure health insurance policy.

How many points can I earn?

If you choose the bonus points, you can earn up to 70,000 Qantas Points in the first year. That is what you’d need to fly economy from Sydney to London or business class between Melbourne and Los Angeles. Depending on the level of cover you choose, you could then earn up to 15,000 Qantas Points as you stay active every year thereafter. Choose from daily, weekly or group challenges to suit your lifestyle and you’ll be rewarded with more points as you hit your targets.

If you’re not already a Qantas Frequent Flyer, you can join without having to pay the regular $89.50 membership fee when you sign up with Qantas Assure. As well as the standard rewards you can redeem, Qantas members can also redeem their rewards for part or all of their initial Qantas Assure health insurance policy premium.

Demonstrated by award-winning actor Christopher Walken, you can see exactly how you can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points when you’re jumping, climbing, dancing and Walken below.

In addition to other activities like shopping, flying and using a Qantas Frequent Flyer credit card, this is just one of many ways you can rack up points for everyday tasks.
