Qantas Dreamliner to operate BNE-LAX daily from September

This is the fourth international route announced for the new 787 Dreamliner.
Qantas has revealed that its daily 787 Dreamliner service from Brisbane and Los Angeles will kick off from 1 September 2018. It may be a few months away, but fares and bookings are available from today.
The airline is currently the only airline using the Dreamliner on this route, and its fares are currently selling for about $1,100 return through Skyscanner.
If your final destination is New York, you’ll be happy to know that the Dreamliner will continue to the Big Apple as a QF11/12 flight. This connecting service between LAX and JFK will carry passengers from Sydney and Melbourne as well as Brisbane.
The 787 will replace the Boeing 747-400 that is currently operating this route. But between September and December this year, the daily Brisbane to Los Angeles Dreamliner service will be accompanied by up to three weekly Boeing 747 flights to keep up with the seasonal demand. Then, once the airline’s eighth Dreamliner has been delivered by the end of 2018, it will replace the three weekly 747 services between Brisbane and Los Angeles with a second year-round Dreamliner service, which will operate four times a week.
The first Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner travelled from Seattle Washington and landed in Sydney in October last year. This BNE-LAX service joins other new international routes including Melbourne to Los Angeles (which started in December 2017), Melbourne to San Francisco (expected to start in late 2018) and Perth to London (which is due to begin in March 2018).
The Qantas 787 Dreamliner carries 236 passengers, making it less cramped than the 747-400 which supports 364 travellers. The Dreamliner boasts the latest version of Qantas’ Business class as well as the next generation of Premium Economy and Economy seats.
