The Qantas American Express Premium Credit Card allows you to directly earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for your everyday spending. This card offers 2 points per $1 for spending at major supermarkets and petrol stations in Australia, as well as on selected Qantas products and purchases in Australia. It offers 1 on most other purchases, with the exception for spending on utilities, telecommunications companies, non-American Express provided insurance and government bodies, which earn 0.5 points per $1 spent. It also has a signup bonus of 30,000 Qantas points for new American Express customers.

As the name suggests, this premium credit card also comes with a range of other exclusive benefits, including complimentary domestic and international travel insurance, refund and purchase protection insurance and two Qantas Club lounge invitations each year after your first card spend on selected Qantas products and services. You also get access to exclusive American Express Card Member benefits through services such as Amex Offers.

    I am a retiree. I own my home which is valued more than a million dollars. I have more than $200,000 in the bank. I have lots of shares and I do not owe anybody any money. My credit is excellent. Are you trying to tell me I can’t apply for a Qantas/Amex FF card?

      Thanks for the question. There is a minimum income requirement of $40,000 p.a.; however that is not the only consideration. The banks will take in a wider view of your financial situation before accepting or rejecting your application. Please contact your lender to discuss this issue further.
