Turn back time with June’s PlayStation Plus lineup

Brodie Fogg 1 June 2017 NEWS

June is the month of over the top zombie slaughter and heartfelt bildungsroman.

This month's PlayStation Plus lineup mirrors the last in the sense that it features one narrative-based choice simulator and one multiplayer gorefest in its top billing PS4 spots.

PS4 leads the pack with the multiplayer zombie shooter Killing Floor 2. This first-person shooter pits up to six players against waves of zombies that increase in size and difficulty the further you proceed. There are some very creative bosses at the end of each wave and a ludicrous amount of weaponry to take them down with.

Life is Strange is a vastly different kind of experience. Life is Strange is an episodic game akin to Telltale's narrative-based adventures. As Max Caulfield, a student with the ability to manipulate time, the player must solve puzzles and mysteries around the quiet town of Arcadia Bay. Episodes of Life is Strange are generally sold separately but PS Plus subscribers will get the entire season free this month. Life is Strange 2 has been officially announced. We're secretly hoping a trailer finally gets released at this year's E3 conference.

PS3 owners are treated to the fantasy side-scroller Abyss Odyssey and WRC 5: World Rally Championship this month.

PS VITA tragics get another round of obscure titles with standard top-down shooter far Neon Chrome and Spy Chameleon.

As always, remember you only have until 6 June to download Tales from the Borderlands (strongly recommended), Alienation and the rest of May's PS Plus lineup.
