Information verified correct on December 7th, 2016

Soapie fans rejoice: Not long to wait for Presto’s exclusive Home and Away special.

It was some months ago that Presto announced that it had commissioned an exclusive special episode of the long-running Channel 7 soap opera Home and Away, to be known as Home and Away: An Eye for an Eye, set to debut in December.

Presto today announced that the special will be made available to its customers for streaming on 9 December. There’s a potential slight spoiler if you’re a Home and Away fan in the stated release as relates to the end of the regular Channel Seven season, so don’t read on too far below if you want to remain unsullied.

While Home and Away fans wait for the special, Presto is also scheduling a series of "best of" collections, focusing on the soap staples of Births, Deaths and Weddings, with the top ten episodes as voted for by Home and Away fans. The births top ten is up first, followed by deaths from 22 November and then Weddings from 29 November. Here’s the rundown of the fan-voted episodes for each category:

The official synopsis, which may spoil some end of season elements, reads as follows:

"Home and Away: An Eye for an Eye centres on the Braxton family and will see the special guest return of two of Home and Away’s favourite characters, Heath (Dan Ewing) and Bianca (Lisa Gormley), to Summer Bay.

The storyline for the special event sits immediately after the dramatic season finale of the regular series on Network Seven as the popular Braxton family face their biggest challenge ever when Brax (Steve Peacocke) and Ricky’s (Bonnie Sveen) baby son Casey is kidnapped in a calculated act of revenge by Brax’s arch nemesis – Gunno (Diarmid Heidenreich) – the man responsible for his seeming ‘death’.

It’s a race against time as Heath, Ash (George Mason) and Kyle (Nic Westaway) frantically search for baby Casey while Bianca, Ricky and Phoebe (Isabella Giovinazzo) desperately try to raise the ransom money as the clock ticks."

How much money does Ricky have for Gunno in the eye for an eye and how much money does Irene lend to bianca in the eye for an eye

      Hi Olivia,

MILD SPOILERS for Home and Away: An Eye for an Eye follow

      Reveal answer

Well, Bianca originally makes up some tall tale about needing $50,000 for a deposit on a home loan (which is a bit of a stretch if you ask us), but Irene, as caring as she may be, simply doesn’t have $50,000 laying around for two impulsive home buyers. Irene then says the best she can do is $10,000 on her line of credit. With Irene’s $10,000, the ransom kitty sits at $21,000. Not even half of what Gunno is asking for.

Out of nowhere, Nate swoops in like some kind of British Superman and offers up another $11,000, no questions asked – because that’s just the kind of guy he is. With Nate’s hat in the ring, the gang has scraped together a total of $32,000, $18,000 short with less than an hour to come up with the rest.

I hope that answers your question,
      Brodie
