Polar M600 combines Android Wear and fitness tracking
With a waterproof body and integrated heart rate monitor, the Polar M600 is combining Polar's fitness strengths with the versatility of Android Wear.
The Polar brand may have been powering fitness tracking around the world for decades, but its Australian presence has been limited to date. The company plans to change all that, with the brand launching directly in Australia today as it launched the M600 Android Wear fitness tracker.
The M600 is designed as a 24/7 tracker powered by Google's Android Wear. The smartwatch incorporates a fully waterproof design, GPS tracking and an integrated heart rate monitor.
On sale online from 17 August and in store from 5 September for an RRP of $499, the smartwatch is available with either a black or white silicone band. The 1.3-inch colour display is partnered with a dedicated button on the front of the device for easy access to Polar's training controls.
Polar quotes battery life of up to 48 hours, though obviously that will change depending on usage. The Polar Flow app for both iOS and Android allows users to track their activity, from basic step and sleep tracking to more detailed training plans allowing users to work towards achieving their personal fitness goals.
From a specifications perspective, the M600 is pretty hefty in terms of included features.
