Online team battles are coming to Pokkén Tournament DX

Matt Sayer 16 October 2017 NEWS

You'll soon be able to take your favourite Pokémon squad online to prove that you truly are the very best.

New features are on their way to Pokkén Tournament DX, the Pokémon fighting game for Nintendo Switch.

Headlining the upcoming additions is the ability to play team battles online, as the current game only supports 1v1 matches over the Internet. That's not it, though, as the game's Group Match mode will see the inclusion of official groups and official group matches in which players can earn special titles to recognise their victories.

The final major addition in the update is especially handy for those seeking the competitive edge. In the game's training mode, you'll be able to record your opponent's moves and play them back on a continuous loop, perfect for when you need to practice countering a specific attack or technique.

Unfortunately, Nintendo has not provided a date for when the update will release yet, but fingers crossed it's soon.

In other Nintendo news, the developers of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth recently showed off their new Switch game, and the quirky brawler ARMS is getting a new character.
