Join the four horsemen of the apocalypse in Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, free with PlayStation Plus this December.

What better way to shrug off the malaise of mortality than by grabbing a scythe and taking on the mantle of the Grim Reaper himself? Thanks to December's serving of free PlayStation Plus games, you can assume the role of the deadliest of the four horsemen of the apocalypse in Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, hacking and slashing your way through both Heaven and Hell in an effort to exonerate your brother and fellow horseman War from his wrongful condemnation.

If you played the original Darksiders II back on PS3 or 360, the Deathinitive Edition sharpens the visuals and comes bundled with all the post-release DLC, giving you good reason to don Death's mask once more and replay this fantastical action RPG.

Maybe you're after something a little less macabre, though? December's second PS4 title has you covered. Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends throws all the main characters from the Jack Black animated film into 1v1 or 2v2 fighting stages set in key locations from the family-friendly franchise. Beating up a Kung Fu panda as a fireball-flinging tiger – what's not to like?

That's hardly it for December's free games, though, and you can check out the entire line-up below. All games will be available to download from 5 December onwards, which gives you one more week to pick up November's PlayStation Plus games if you haven't done so already.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition (PS4)
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of the Legendary Legends (PS4)
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS Plus bonus – PS VR Required)
That’s You! (PS Plus bonus – PlayLink)
Xblaze Lost: Memories (PS3)
Syberia Collection (PS3)
Forma 8 (PS Vita & PS4)
Wanted Corp (PS Vita)
