Photobucket Review | Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Photobuckets allows you to put that SD card to good use. You can print your photos on many different surfaces and enjoy your images in a new and useful way.
  • Photobucket is an active photo hosting online community. Once you sign up you can use the site to save your images to share with friends or use at a later date.
  • Photobucket purchases are trackable online.

Cons

  • Shipping applies. Free shipping is only available for orders to US addresses.
  • Wait time. There may be some wait time for production of complicated orders, or bulkier items. If you need to have your prints by a specific date, Photobucket asks that you get in contact with the print shop to make sure your prints arrive on time.

How does Photobucket work? | Photobucket login, upload editor and album walkthrough

You will need to have an account to be able to take advantage of Photobucket's service. The standard account is free, and includes access to the site’s most frequently used features. You can also pay $24.95 for a pro account if your photographic needs are more professional than amateur.

Once you have signed up you can start creating your albums by adding photos from your computer, your Facebook account, or from a URL.

When you have uploaded your photos, you can organise them into albums to publish online, share with friends, or edit them using the Photobucket onsite editor. You can view your albums at any time by clicking on ‘Library’ in the top left hand corner of the page.

Click ‘Print Shop’ to order prints of your photos. Your images will pop up automatically for your selection during the customising process.

Photobucket v Flickr v Imgur v Picasa

Photobucket is leader in online photo hosting, and in competition with Flickr, Imgur and Picasa. The services these sites provide is comparable, both in price (both Flickr and Photobucket offer their standard services for free with an option to ‘upgrade to pro’ for $24.95USD per year) and services available.

Flickr offers 100MB of free storage per month (along with two videos) while Photobucket offers a much larger 10GB of storage. Picasa offers 15GB when combined with Google Plus. Imgur offers unlimited storage and sharing when you sign up for a pro account.

The layouts vary from platform to platform and is mostly up to personal preference. You can try them all for free to see which site suits you best.

How can I get Photobucket free shipping?

Free shipping is not available for Australian orders. The cost of shipping will depend on the weight and size of each piece. Bulkier items (such as large framed prints) will be more expensive to ship than smaller prints (such as a postcard).

What forms of payment does Photobucket accept?s

  • PayPal

What is the Photobucket returns policy?

As each item is made to order, Photobucket does not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. If you are unhappy with the final product, email customer service who will be happy to help to solve the problem. If your item arrives damaged, get in contact with Photobucket to order a replacement.
