Meet the monochrome line of your dreams.

Since first striking up a partnership in 2014, sportswear label adidas and American rapper/singer Pharrell Williams have defined their collaborations with bold colour schemes and styles. Now, that's all about to change with the latest drop from the duo.

Arriving at adidas flagship stores, select retailers and online from 20 July, the Greyscale line is set to be much more low-key than its predecessors. In place of bright colourways, the collaboration will see the now-iconic SolarHu Glide silhouette reimagined in four subtle, tonal colourways of Off White, White, Core Black and Grey.

The BOOST-equipped sneakers feature completely tonal mesh and Primeknit uppers, alongside felt "Hu" patches on the lateral and toebox. The only hint of colour in the entire line comes with the Off White pair, which sneaks a rainbow iteration of the "Hu" patch onto its lateral.

The Greyscale line is accompanied by a video featuring track and field superstar and adidas running ambassador Tori Bowie. According to adidas, "Bowie's story of strength and perseverance inspires an entire generation of runners. The story visualizes the 'inner light' that guided her through multiple personal setbacks only to emerge as the 2017 100m world champion and fastest woman in the world."

The film highlights the importance of running in Bowie's life, as she speaks of inner light and human potential. It sums up the main message behind the collaboration, which adidas has described as being a "foundational message of love, hope, inclusivity, and equality". Pretty inspiring stuff.

If you're keen to get your hands on a pair from the Greyscale line when it becomes available, you can expect a price point of approximately US$160, which isn't too bad for a major collaborative collection.

In the meantime, you can get your adidas fix from other recent drops by the label including an iconic Toy Story 4 collection and a Marvel-inspired collaboration with basketballer Donovan Mitchell.
