Peru flight FAQ

  • Who flies to Peru? LATAM Airlines, United and Air Canada operate flights from Australia to Lima in Peru.
  • What are the major airports in Peru? Peru’s main international and domestic airport is Jorge Chávez International Airport. Located in Callao, it’s roughly 12km from Peru’s capital Lima.
  • What airport transfer options are available? Avis, Budget and Hertz have car hire counters at Jorge Chávez International Airport. Driving in Peru is tricky, though, so this option is best for experienced drivers. Taxis are also available at the airport. To ensure you’re travelling with a licensed company, book your cab from one of the taxi counters inside the arrivals hall. Licensed names include CMV Taxi, Mitsoo Remisse, Taxi 365, Taxi Directo and Taxi Green. The fare into Lima’s Miraflores district – where a good portion of the hotels are – should cost about SOL60–70. Ubers also operate from the airport. The average Uber fare to Miraflores is SOL33–34 in an uberPOOL. Another option is to pre-book an airport shuttle service through a company like Viator. If you want to take public transport, meanwhile, the Airport Express bus service departs from the airport 29 times a day and heads to Miraflores. One-way tickets cost US$8.
