Finder Beauty Fave: Peppy Co Cleansing Egg
If your skin is in desperate need of a deep cleanse, Peppy Co's brand new Cleansing Egg may just be your new best friend.
If you've never heard of Peppy Co, you may be able to recognise the LED Light Therapy Mask from your Instagram feed. Not only did the Finder team review it, but so did tons of Aussie beauty influencers.
When Peppy Co first announced the launch of the Cleansing Egg, I was more than excited. While a facial cleansing device is not a new thing to come to the market, I had never tried one before. So what better way to start than with Peppy Co, an Australian-owned beauty brand?
The quick verdict
Why is it good? It provides the skin with a deep cleanse, leaving it feeling totally soft and refreshed.
How much is it? $119
Where to buy it: Peppy Co and THE ICONIC
Peppy Co's Cleansing Egg is made from ultra-soft, anti-bacterial silicone bristles that work to deeply cleanse the skin without irritation. It's also been designed with sonic vibration, and this ensures the bristles massage the skin and penetrate the pores.
Let's take a look at the specs. Not only is the cleansing egg waterproof, but it's been designed with wireless charging. If you're one who forgets to charge things, then you're in luck. Just one charge can give you up to 300 uses!
You can also personalise the vibrations, with a total of five different speed choices.
The Peppy Co Cleansing Egg is marketed for all skin types, but do I think that statement is accurate? Not entirely.
If your skin is sensitive or acne-prone, I recommend you either use this a few times a week (instead of on a daily basis) and/or ensure the vibrations are not too strong.
While I was using this for the first time, I was experiencing some hormonal acne. I began using the cleansing egg twice a day, on a medium vibration and my skin was not happy – my acne was red and inflamed.
While I don't blame the cleansing egg for it, I believe you need to use a cleansing device in a way that works best for you and your skin. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach.
I start off by wetting my face and the silicone brush. Then, I apply my cleanser of choice to the egg, turn it on and move it around my face in circular motions. Peppy Co recommends to use it for one minute, morning and night. So once the minute is up, I rinse and dry my face, as well as the egg.
Overall, I do really love the Peppy Co Cleansing Egg – it's especially great to use after a long day of wearing makeup. It does an exceptional job at cleansing, without stripping the skin. My skin feels soft, smooth and refreshed after use.
If your skin is in desperate need of a deep cleanse, this could be your new best friend.
Affordability
Peppy Co's Cleansing Egg retails for $119, which I think is a pretty fair price to pay. A facial cleansing device is not something you need to replace – it's an investment.
