What are the benefits and features?

If you’re in Wollongong, you might be able to get significantly better value for money with this health fund by attending the Peoplecare dental centre.

All cover levels include a range of useful benefits, including health management programs and pharmacy cover for prescription medications.

The laser eye surgery cover renews every two years, unlike other health funds that might have a lifetime limit. This makes it more useful over the long term for follow-ups. However, if you’re considering getting the cover specifically for laser eye surgery, it’s also worth noting that a 24-month waiting period applies, so you’ll need to be in it for the long term. This waiting period is fairly typical for health funds that cover laser eye surgery.

Also, if you’re looking for a combined cover package, Peoplecare offers a discount on extras cover when taken out alongside hospital cover.

What are the limitations and waiting periods?

With extras cover, you can get no gap dental services at the Peoplecare dental centre in Wollongong, up to the limits of your policy.

If you are not in Wollongong, you might find the dental cover under the Basic, Mid and High plans to be lacking compared to some other equivalently priced options.

The main downside is that you can only get a certain percentage back. You only get 50% back with Basic and 60% with Mid. Even High extras still only pays 70% of the cost.

There are a number of other health funds that pay set dental benefits instead or will cover 100% of the cost, even with basic plans.

Being able to attend the Wollongong Peoplecare dental centre may be necessary to get value-for-money dental cover with these extras plans.

However, the Top extras plan is similar to the top level extras cover offered by other health funds, so if you’re after comprehensive extras cover it may be worth comparing the cost of this policy next to equivalents.
